The new Captain, Nick Wheelwright, was elected at the Annual General Meeting of Halifax Bradley Hall Golf Club last night. The previous week, his wife Elaine, had been elected Ladies Captain at the Ladies A.G.M.It is believed that this is the first time at Bradley Hall that a husband and wife had been captains of their respective sections during the same year.
Both Nick and Elaine have been members of the Club for over 20 years and it is the second time that Elaine has been the Lady Captain. Not to be outdone, Nick has previously served as the Captain of the Rabbits Section.
In addition, this summer the couple will also celebrate their Ruby Wedding and to commemorate these milestones they have instigated a new annual competition, the 'Ruby Trophy' the first playing of which will be on Saturday 16th May when all sections of the Club will be encouraged to take part.
