Outlane Golf Club was saddened to hear of the death of Outlane’s eldest and longest serving member, Stanley Garner, who enjoyed 73 years of membership. Stanley will be remembered not only for his golf, but also for the many roles he served during his time at the club. He had been the Competition Secretary, Greens Chairman, Purveyor and House Chairman.
He was one of Outlane’s most accomplished golfers and prolific winners, with 25 major prizes, including six successive Sudworth Cups (Scratch Matchplay). He was one who over the years made the club what it is today, and fondly remembered as “Mr.Golf”. His son Trevor was more than delighted when Stanley was given the honour of opening the new extension to mark the clubs Centenary. The club offers its sincere condolences to all his relatives.
