Big Field for Willow Valley Test

A huge 58 pairs will contest the forthcoming Huddersfield, Halifax & District Golf Alliance at Willow Valley next Tuesday.

Amongst the field there will be 16 professionals competing in the Pro-Am section and with five representing the host venue a home winner could be on the cards. Lee Shepherd is out in the second group and partnering D Bentley will no doubt start as one of the favourites.

Head professional and general manager of the Clifton Complex, Julian Haworth, playing with J Newton will be keen to impress over his own course whilst another player amongst the paid ranks at Willow Valley, P Young, will kick-off proceedings at 8:00am when he partners M Lord in the opening game. Darren Rands and Wayne Pendlebury make up the Willow Valley quintet.

Meanwhile David Astin will be hoping to secure top spot in the Order of Merit when he teams up with his usual partner from Hedben Bridge, Andy Cryer. Astin's nearest challengers, Tom Wild and Chris Hanson, both play and will be aiming to close the gap on a course which notoriously provides a stern test for golfers of all abilities.

Full start-sheet.
