Bower Double Helps Yorkshire Power to Victory

Meltham youngster Jamie Bower made a significant contribution in helping guide Yorkshire Boys to victory over the cream of junior golfers from Wales at Fixby last week.

Bower (pictured) teamed up with D Hawksworth from Hollins Hall to win by an impressive 7&5 in his morning foursomes game and then just edged a close match against his Welsh opponent, J Bush, in the afternoon singles when he triumphed on the final green. His double victory helped Yorkshire seal a comfortable 12.5 - 5.5 victory.

Yorkshire led 4.5 - 1.5 after the morning contest and despite a rally from Wales Boys in the middle order of the individual ties the result was never in doubt.
