Janet Comes out on Top

A testing wind made the scoring particularly tricky in the latest monthly 'Rainbow' competition at Todmorden Golf Club. The individual Stableford, played by Men and Ladies on the
Rainbow course, was won by Janet Topham with a very creditable 38 points.

Leading Scores:
1st Janet Topham = 38pts
2nd Roy Holland = 36
3rd Geoff Stansfield = 33
4th Les Woodhead = 32
5th Colin Greenwood = 30

The first two competitions this year had previously been won by Men, so Janet is the first lady to win on the Rainbow Course this year.

The creator of the hybrid course, Roger Wornell, said, "What was also very interesting is that for the second month in the row, the average scoring for the ladies and the men was virtually identical. This suggests that the course is now perfectly balanced for both sexes and is a genuinely equal competition for ladies and men to compete together."
