Davies is Midsummer Champ

Football referee, Peter Davies, just managed to outscore ex-cricketer, Ron Hardy, to win the Mid-Summer Championship final at Outlane on Sunday. His second round of 68, playing in the final pairing on the course, was good enough to take the honours during an exciting finish.

The format of the competition is that the top 30 players in the first round go out in reverse order for the second round and the lowest aggregate nett score over two rounds wins the trophy.

Midsummer Championship Final - Sunday May 31st:
Peter Davies = 133 (65 nett & 68 nett)
Ron Hardy = 134 (68 nett & 66 nett)
Bryn Jenkinson = 136 (66 nett & 70 nett)
Paul Phillips = 137 (68 nett & 69 nett)

Meanwhile former Captain and police dog handler, Mark Walker, captured the Bank Holiday Medal first division prize with an impressive 42 points from Bryn 'second again' Jenkinson on a better back nine whilst Graham Mason won his first competition with 44 points in the second division.

Bank Holiday Medal- Monday May 25th:
First Division:
Mark Walker = 42 points
Bryn Jenkinson = 42 points
Paul Savage = 40 points

Second Division:
Graham Mason = 44 points
Paul Donlan = 42 points
Graham Howe = 42 points

The club is hoping for a fine day on Sunday June 7th when the Annual Shotgun Texas Scramble will be followed by the official Opening Ceremony of the clubs balcony at 2.00pm. This date co-incides with notice of the forming of the golf club 103 years ago.
