Keeping it in the Family

Outlane Lady Captain, Cherril Smallburn, teamed up with her son Robert to win The Cresta Trophy at Outlane Golf Club yesterday.

Robert, a member at Bradley Hall Golf Club, and his mother scored 42 points in the betterball mixed open to win by two points from another home member, Anne Hesselden, and her partner, Richard Turner from West End.

Their tally was helped with a '2 for 1 score' on the fifth hole that Madam Captain made to clinch four points towards their total.

Second placed Turner also scored a four pointer on the stroke one hole when he holed his chip shot from off the green!

The all-Outlane pairing of Sandra and Stuart Eastwood took third place with 38 points.

Leading Scores:
1st: Cherril Smallburn (Outlane) / Robert Smallburn (Bradley Hall ) = 42 points
2nd: Anne Hesselden (Outlane ) / Richard Turner (West End ) = 40 points
3rd: Sandra Eastwood (Outlane) / Stuart Eastwood (Outlane ) = 38 points


Meanwhile Andy Wilford won the June Medal the day before with an excellent 67 gross.
