Helen Pearson, Lady Captain of Crow Nest Park Golf Club, held her Captain's Day on Saturday. Despite the favourable weather forecast the sky remained dull and overcast for much of the day, however, this didn`t dampen the spirits of the Crow Nest faithful who turned out in numbers to support this popular Captain.
The men's competition was held in the morning and took the format of a 4-man team stableford event. The winning team had a score of 92 points and consisted of David Griffiths, Chris Mowl, Richard 'Baz' Crossley and Phil Widdop.
The Ladies 'Major' competition was held in the afternoon and was won by Mrs Mandy Widdop, who helped complete the family double on the day. Runner-up was Janet Longbottom and in third place was Sue Berry. Both Phil and Mandy are pictured above flanking Pearson.
The prizes were presented in front of a well attended gathering during the evening and followed a humourous address by Mrs Pearson. The members were entertained by singer Paul Akister.
