Andrew Fires 7-under Total for Captain's Win

Following the completion of the Captain's Weekend Competitions, held on 27th and 28th June at Dewsbury District Golf Club, the presentation to those successful was held on the evening of Saturday 4th July.

The main Captain's Prize was won by Andrew McMahon (pictured) who, off 8 handicap, shot excellent rounds of 75 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday for a nett 135 total. His tally was good enough to secure him a one shot victory over Jim Ewens.

The best gross score was returned by Edward Battye who shot 69, 74, for a 143 total.

The Captain, Phil Smith, offered congratulations to all prize winners and thanks to everyone who participated in any of the competitions held over his weekend.
In return the Captain was thanked for his hospitality at the half-way house provided by an army of helpers commandeered especially for the occasion and led by his wife Julie.
He was also praised for his generosity with regard to the prize table, pictured below.

In line with recent achievements at Dewsbury District G.C, two more hole-in-ones were recorded over the Captains Weekend - both players, Mike Derry and Ian Furness, received a bottle of Whisky and a certificate from the Captain.
