Last year saw the inaugural Scratch Open at Crow Nest Park Golf Club. This year the event was held last Wednesday and saw the entry double from only 12 last year to 24 this time as the players competed for the Everitt Cup.Low handicap golfers came from across the Halifax, Huddersfield & District Golf Association area to compete in the event. The course, which has been receiving rave reviews recently, played difficult with a gusting wind proving troublesome to many.
The winning score by Matthew Colcombe, came from a none Crow Nest member, with a fine gross score of 70, which proved that the course didn`t play easy. One of the pre-tournament favourites, Chris Mowl, finished a shot back in second place.
Richard Langley-Webb (pictured) took the best nett score with a 70.
