Macca wins his first Major

Steve McDermott recorded Crow Nest Park`s lowest net score of the year in a major competition with a net 63, to win his first major title.

The Thompson Shield was donated to the club in 1995 as part of the opening ceremony by the late local MP Sir Donald Thompson.

The competition was played under clear blue skys but following the recent wet weather the rough whilst not deep was lush. This didn`t hinder the elite golfers at Crow Nest as they recordedsome commendable scores.

The days competition was complemented by a members Barbecue and an on course treasure hunt which followed the prize ceremony. Members stayed late into the evening enjoying the balmy conditions.
