Memorial Stableford at Bradley Hall

On Saturday the annual competition in memory of two members, Tom Park and Bill Garnett, who were tragically killed in a road accident was held at an extremely wild and windy Bradley Hall.

The first four holes were played into what the weather forecast described as a 'brisk westerly' but competitors found it to be almost 'gale force' and many reached the 5th tee with barely any points recorded.

During the entire day, only four players recorded scores under par, three being in Division 1 where the early pace setters were Paul Hesselden (11 hcp) and Steve Rathmell (13 hcp) with 38 points but they were finally overtaken by Scratch Team member, Chris Mather (4 hcp) by a single point and therefore claimed the 'Tom Park Trophy'.

In the second division former cricketer, Ian Croft (17 hcp) broke his 'duck' by winning his first competition to take the 'Bill Garnett Trophy' with 37 points and in doing so moved into the 'Tigers' section.

Leading scores:
Div. 1:
C.Mather 39 points
P.R.Hesselden 38
S.Rathmell 38
R.Pilkington 36
C.Doyle 35
P.Spedding 35

Div. 2
I.Croft 37
J.Rhodes 36
A.Beddis 34
R.Roebuck 34
