The President at Dewsbury District Golf Club became the eighth member to achieve a hole-in-one at the club this week!Chris Hawkshaw, achieved the fifth ace of his career whilst playing in the Wednesday Seniors' Competition. Using a 9-iron at the famous "Tom Morris" par-three he holed out whilst playing with Steve Ward, John Ellam and Ray Jackson.
After striking the shot Jackson said, "It looks like a whisky Chris." On approaching the green Hawkshaw thought it had come up short in the "bomb hole" and took a wedge out of his bag only for Ward to call him across and congratulate him on his ace.
Hawkshaw has been a member at Dewsbury for 37 years and has served as Rabbit's Secretary, House Chairman, Captain as well as his present roles as Trustee and President.
The traditional drinks were provided and enjoyed by those in the clubhouse afterwards.
