Records go yet again for the Junior Open

The record for the number of juniors playing in the Crow Nest Park Golf Club junior Open was smashed yet again this year.

Under the guidance of the Junior Organiser, Mark Campbell, 57 junior golfers from across the Halifax, Huddersfield & District Union of Golf Clubs competed in this increasingly popular event.

The days proceedings were put together by a strong team at the Club which encompassed all sections. A barbecue was provided for competitors and their families which, under the blue skys that helped swell the numbers, went down a real treat.

The Barbecue hosts were Mike Walton, Debbie & Steve Yendley and Mark Campbell himself. The Editor of the Brighouse Echo, Stephen Firth and the Club Captain, Martin Broadbent presented the prize winners with the prizes at a presentation which took place in the clubhouse just after 6.00pm.

Ben Adamson took the best gross prize with a round of 68 whilst Kyle Broadbent (pictured with Firth) scored the best nett round and therefore took home the Brighouse Echo Trophy.

Les Holmes from Crow Nest Park said, "Crow Nest Park Golf Club would like to thank The Brighouse Echo once again for its support year on year for this successful Junior event."
