Tony Tames Tough Conditions

Following days of warm, calm weather it was somewhat of a surprise to the 151 competitors to experience strong westerlies and showers for the Remembrance Cup at Bradley Hall Golf Club.

The scoring was reflected with the the C.S.S. increasing to 71. However, leading the field was one of the 'senior' members, Tony Hirst, who claimed his first major victory with a nett 66.

He was closely followed by Steve Barlow with a 67 whilst Junior Captain, Andy Hare, continued his successful season with the best gross of 72 for a nett 68. He finished alongside immediate past Junior Captain, Jonathan Gittins, with the same score.

Close behind was Jonathan's father and playing partner, Nigel, with a nett 70.
