The Junior Pinnacle Open was held last week in glorious sunshine at Dewsbury District Golf Club.Young golfers from Huddersfield, Lightcliffe, Willow Valley, Bradley Park, Bradley Hall, Oulton Hall, Waterton Park and Lee Park in Liverpool joined host club members to make up a field of almost 50 players, one of the largest fields for a Junior Open in this area.
The main Winner was Lee Park's Tom Fearon who has promised the club to come back and defend the trophy next year. Fearon won on a card countback from home player George Sykes after both had recorded rounds of 65.
Meanwhile the best gross score went to four-handicapper, Ryan Joyce (pictured with club captain Phil Smith), from Huddersfield Golf Club who posted a level par round of 71.
Club manager Mick Thorpe said, "The sunshine and great condition of the course helped make it an enjoyable day for competitors and spectators alike."
Results:
1st: Tom Fearon, Lee Park G.C - 85 = 65 nett
2nd: George Sykes, Dewsbury District G.C - 97 = 65 nett
Best Gross: Ryan Joyce, Huddersfield G.C - 71
