PAGE TROPHY 2010

Chris Hanson won the Page Trophy at West End building on a solid first round 70 with a fine 64 in the second round which included 7 birdies. 4 shots behind in second place, and best amateur, was West End’s Craig Regan playing off 13 with 70 and 68.

The course was in superb condition with fast smooth greens which were very firm, only the best shots holding the putting surface. The morning round finished in light drizzle which became heavier for the second round, late finishers having to contend with rain.

Z. Sydor (Ind Fixby) had the best net first round score of 63 off a handicap of 13, 4 shots clear of the next best. Best net in the second round was M. Sheldrake with 67 off 11.

Tied for second place in the professional section were John Ambler (Longley Park) with 70 and 69 and Tom Wilde (Bradley Park) with 67 and 72 which was also third overall.

Second amateur was S. Bridges, scr, (West End) with 140 and a better second round from D. Senior, 11, (Hebden Bridge) also with 140 who was third. Fourth, again by a better second round, was A. Dyson, 5, (Crosland Heath) with 141.

Best amateur gross prize was awarded to G. McLean, scr, (Meltham) with 145.

The Emmitt Smith Club Team Trophy was won by West End Golf Club, D. Stafford, A. Baxter and C. Regan with a total of 437.

The last event of the season is the Ronnie Parkinson Memorial at Crow Nest Park on Thursday, 13th May.
