WELL WORTH THE TRIP FOR DOWN UNDER MAURICE (with his 9 under)

Maurice Clough who was captain at Outlane in 1983 came back to win the Seniors open with Seniors secretary Keith Mandell and then followed up with a win in the Gents Open with Andy Mellor. Maurice spends the winter in Australia but always comes back every year to his roots and plays at Outlane during our summer golf season.The man from down under finished with a 9 under score to complete a fine double with Andy Mellor in the Better Ball competition after partnering Keith Mandell in the Seniors

Maurice Clough / Andy Mellor = 62 nett
Richard Godino / Brett Ashton = 63 nett
Ken Robinson / Steve Howlett = 64 nett
David Law (Meltham) / Roy Johnson (Meltham) = 64 nett

MIXED OPEN STABLEFORD
Trevor Pickles / Gillian Goodlass = 40 points
Carl Livesey / Julie Livesey = 39 points
Paul Hesselden (Bradley Hall ) / July Russell (Dewsbury) = 39 points
Sean Hazelden (Meltham) / Sandra Eastwood = 38 points

The President of Outlane Golf Club Trevor Pickles and his partner Lady Vice Captain Gillian Goodlass were the winners of the mixed competition after a first out score from husband and wife partnership Carl and Julie Livesey was bettered by the second out partnership. The early scores couldn't be beaten on a course whic was in superb condition for the Open Week.
