Crow Nest Park Golf Club President John Turner 'had a splendid day and enjoyed the very good weather' during his day last Saturday.
In the Junior Competition the results were as follows:
28+ handicap competition winner - Seven year old Harry Mowl. (Harry's mum is currently the Ladies captain at CNP and dad Chris is a former PGA Professional golfer and still plays off scratch at CNP but now as an amateur.) Harry is definitely one to watch out for in the future!
3rd place - Kyle Broadbent: 39 points
Runner Up - Luke Higgins: 39 points (on a countback)
Winner - Keiran Loach - 40 points.
Keiran had a fantastic day winning the President's junior trophy and claiming the prizes for the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin challenges.
In a very closely contested President's ladies cup competition the results were as follows:
3rd place - Janet Longbottom
Runner up & winner of the Nearest the Pin competition - Carole Hampson
Winner - Barbara Horrocks
The longest/straightest drive challenge was won by Ann Ashton.
In the men's President's Cup competition course manager Rob Gee shot the best gross of the day with a three over par 73 but the winner of the trophy, with a net 66 was Jeremy Harrison.
Runner up - Chris Wood
3rd place - David May
Longest Drive - Kris Richmond
Nearest the Pin - Bob Jackson
The men's non-qualifying competition was won by Lewis Howell.
Prior to the presentation of the trophies and prizes over one hundred members and guests watched England's opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2010 against USA.
Club President, Turner thanked everyone who had played in the four competitions and all who had helped to make the day a success. He went on to say that the course was in fabulous condition and the atmosphere throughout the day and evening was excellent. The celebrations continued well into the night courtesy of Vice-Rabbit Captain, Steve Yendley's ever popular disco.
