Willow Valley Golf were awarded a Calderdale Sports Award by the Hipperholme & Lightcliffe Schools Partnership in the category of Outstanding Contribution to school to club links. The awards evening took place at the Victoria Theatre Halifax, the award was presented by the Majoress of Halifax.Commenting on the recognition on behalf of the coaching team and Willow Valley Golf Julian Haworth said "We are proud to be recognised for this award which reflects the hard work that has been put in to taking golf in to schools in Calderdale, Darren and I have made it a goal of our teaching academy to introduce as many new children to golf as we can over the last 12 months.
"Though it should be noted that without the tireless work of Anne Henderson who coordinates all the sports links in our area, non of this would have been possible.
"Now that we have started this work we intend to continue for as long as there is the opportunity to deliver Tri - Golf and Golf Extreme in local schools. Its been very rewarding and the enthusiasm you see on the children's faces is reward enough."
