15-year-old Nicholas Marsh, Lightcliffe golf club’s rising junior star finished in a highly creditable runner-up position in the Yorkshire U16 Boys Amateur Championship held at the Wheatley Golf Club Doncaster on 28th July 2010.Marsh opened up with a morning round of 74 in often blustery & showery conditions to be positioned comfortably in the top 10 on the testing tree lined golf course.
The afternoon conditions eased somewhat allowing scoring to improve and a 6 birdie haul for Marsh resulted in a tournament best round of 68, 3 under par.
A combined total of 142 was 1 shot behind joint winners, William Whiteoak from Bingley St Ives Golf Club and Guy Winstanley from Wheatley Golf Club.
