Early Morning Ace for Crowther

Dewsbury District Golf Club recorded it's seventh hole-in-one since May when Union regular, Ben Crowther, achieved an ace on his way to an impressive 4-under par, gross 67, in the latest Midweek Medal at the Pinnacle Club.

Whilst most people were still in bed Crowther, and playing partner Edward Battye, competed in the strokeplay competition setting off just after the crack of dawn.

The former Union Matchplay champion's round not only included the hole-in-one that came on the 166 yard par 3, where he used an 8-iron, but also an eagle two at the par 4 15th! It was Ben's second career ace, his first coming many years ago.

Club Manager Mick Thorpe said, "We have now had seven holes in one here at Dewsbury since May this year and unluckily... or perhaps luckily for Ben... there was hardly anyone in the clubhouse so early in the morning to help him celebrate!"
