The final play-off matches for this season in the Lawrence Batley Seniors League have been completed.
In the first semi-final, section A winners - Huddersfield, were defeated in a close match by the winners of section D - Low Laithes. With the match score at 4 - 4 and the winning margins also equal it was decided on a sudden death play-off with Low Laithes successful at the first extra hole.
The second semi-final between the winners of sections B and C was a clear win to Silkstone over opponents Saddleworth by a margin of 6 - 2.
In the final, the first Silkstone pair proved to be outstanding, recording a win by 5 and 3. The second game went to Low laithes by a margin of 4 and 2. The third and fourth games left the 14th tee with Low Laithes well ahead in both matches but a fight back by the Silkstone players saw both games go to the 18th hole. The recovery proved to be not quite enough with the third match going to Low Laithes, 2 up and a halved fourth game gave Low Laithes the team trophy, 5 - 3.
