He had a guide and escort, Dan Schofield, who lined him up and buggy driver Richard Jennings assisting with his round to register a magnificent and amazing round of 109 shots.
With a large crowd watching from the first tee he set off and unfortunately the weather was not suitable for them to follow and had to settle for the welcoming he received on completion of his rain soaked round.
A first nine holes of 58 was more than acceptable but the second nine saw him come back in 51 shots which included a 3, 5, 5 finish to rapturous applause on the last hole from people on the balcony.
With guessing golfers entering scores of well into the hundred and even 200 it was a surprise that the winning total was only registered once by a member (Marc Webb) and the day raised £220 towards the green-keepers shed fund
