WOOD YOU BELIEVE IT!

William Iredale won his first ever major in the modified bogey competition, The Wood Trophy, with a comfortable 3 point margin and now goes in the Champion of Champions event which starts off next seasons competitions at Outlane Golf Club.

Some high scoring was the order of the day with several players having handicap reductions in the stableford event which saw the standard scratch score being reduced to 70 from the par of 71.

The earlier Bank Holiday medal was also a high scoring competition with Paul Walker having a comfortable winning margin of 4 points in the first division and Gary Alsop winning the second division by a single point.

Bank Holiday Medal:
Division 1
Paul Walker = 43 points
Peter Lawton = 39 points
Paul Reynolds = 39 points

Division 2
Gary Alsop = 40 points
John Crawford = 39 points
Robert Armitage = 38 points

Roy Beaumont = 40 points
Andy McLaughlin = 39 points
John Lawton = 38 points
