Chris Hanson made a winning start to 2011 with a two-stroke victory in the opening Northern Pro Tour event of the season at Hart Common Golf Club.
Three adrift of the leaders following the first round yesterday Hanson turned on the style today to fire a blistering five-under par 65, easily the low round of the tournament, to secure a two stroke victory.
Reeling off six birdies and an eagle to counter three bogies Hanson broke free of the pack and never let slip his lead having hit the front with a holed bunker shot at the 9th for his eagle which moved him to three under.
The win, in a field of 31 high quality professionals, pocketed the Woodsome Hall player a prize of £1,200.
