Consistant rain produces high scores

The usual weather of rain and more rain which seems to happen on Ladies Day at Outlane was the reason for several high scores in their Open 4 AM.AM.

And with the early players getting an absolute soaking it was quite an advantage to play late on when the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Any score to par would be in with a chance as it was the best two to count.

The winning team of Carol Crowther (Outlane), Irene Battye (Outlane), Barbara Horrocks (Crow Nest Park) and Pat Waldren (Hickleton) did just that with a 140 total which was one less than the runners-up of Wendy Stott (Outlane), Debbie Greenwood (Outlane), Gwen Wright ( Dewsbury) and Helen Butcher (Whittingham Heath).

With three teams on 143 the combination of Rosemary Bradford (Outlane), Mavis Turner (Crosland Heath), Eileen Booth (Longley Park) and Anne Carrington (Dewsbury) got the better count back score which was made in the very early deluge whilst the first and second teams were late starters which meant better conditions for their totals.
