The Claret Cup was played in glorious weather at Crosland Heath Golf Club and it was the home juniors who shone to take the honours in the team competition which had the best two scores from any number of players who were playing for their own club.
It was Jason Fleetwood with Daniel Syke who's 41 and 40 points won the Claret Cup for The Heath. They are pictured left receiving the trophy from the competition sponsor, David Cox.
In second place was the Lightcliffe combination of Freddie Stoker and Charlie Jeffres who totalled 77 points and third place was shared by Outlane and Longley Park with 75 points with the latter club's George Brady providing the best overall score with a fantastic 45 points which included a back nine total of 27 points.
Outlane provided the second overall best score with Nathan Lockwood's 42 points but unfortunately these two clubs couldn't produce a good enough back up score from their other players.
The girls prize was won by Bradley Parks Jenna Moffit with 35 points edging out Melisa Wood and Neeve Fisher who had 34 and 33 points in a close and exciting finish to their competition.
The same competition saw Outlane's Jordan Barker put his first ball on the second hole well off line and possibly out of bounds so he hit a provisional ball just in case. The provisional went straight into the hole and had to count as his first ball couldn't be found which meant a three instead of a hole-in-one, but never the less a moment he could look back on.
