Summer arrived just in time for the Ladies Am Am at Elland Golf Club, where 88 ladies ventured out on a very hot day.
On Thursday 2nd June, the ladies went out in teams of four, with two to count on every hole. The winners were Elland pair, Bev Taylor and Olwyn Hornby, with guests, Louise Field from Woodsome Hall and Sheila Blackwell from Bradley Park, with a fabulous score of 74.
72 points was a very popular score, with the next three teams all achieving this, but after a count back, second place went to Jenny Priestley (Elland), Hazel Wooller (Fixby), Carol Philp and Joan Gordon (Lightcliffe), and finally third place went to Edith Uttley and Mollie Fielding (Elland), Christine Walker and Margaret Gardner (Horsforth).
Lady Captain, Carmen Leonard, congratulated the winners. She went on to give thanks to all those who given their time, both on the day and during the preparations for the event, which was organised by Linda Gul.
