Country Members Cup Results

On a bright and somewhat breezy day, the 'Country Members Cup' was held at Bradley Hall on Saturday 23 July.

The event which, was donated by a group of country members many years ago, is the bogey format where competitors play against the course.

It is a nett competition and the winner is the player who has the greatest success in bettering the par score on the 18 holes. Needless to say, several players find the format a little confusing and several cards were submitted incorrectly marked.

The ultimate winner was John Chadwick (18) who finished with a score of +5 and he was closely challenged by the immediate past captain, and Scratch Team member,David Whitaker (4) with +4. The next two places were taken by past junior captains, Jonathan Gittins (8) and Andy Hare (3) both with a count of +3.

A total of 18 players achieved plus scores and a further 9 finished level.
