The semi-final matches of the Lawrence Batley Seniors League were played at Elland and Meltham Golf Clubs on Friday 12th August.
The match at Elland between Branshaw and Woodsome Hall ended in a comfortable win for Branshaw by a margin of 6-2. Two of the games were halved with Branshaw winning the other two by 4 & 3 and 2 & 1.
The match at Meltham between Wortley and Blackley was much closer. Two of the games were halved, the other two resulted in a win for each for each team, both by the same margin of 3 & 1, meaning that the result had to be determined by a sudden death play off.
On the first play off hole, one of the Wortley team lost his ball putting the pressure on his partner who played his second shot to ten feet, two putted for a four which was good enough to win the hole and the match.
The final is to be played on Friday 26th August.
Meanwhile the result of one outstanding match was Meltham 8 Hanging Heaton 0
