The Halifax, Huddersfield & District Union of Golf Clubs took place at The Huddersfield Golf Club on Sunday 28th August for the Jack Sykes Trophy.
The format is club teams of four with:
1 player with a handicap not less than 8
1 player with a handicap not less than 10
1 player with a handicap not less than 12
1 player with a handicap not less than 14
The team with the best gross team score wins the trophy.
It was a very windy day with a number of rain showers with the scores reflecting the conditions. However, the Huddersfield Golf Club presented the course in excellent condition with especially fast greens.
Huddersfield Golf Club won over their home course by just 2 strokes.

ReplyDeleteThe recent micro tining of greens made the ball move suceptable to bouncing around on puts. It was a shame this procedure could not have been delayed until after this event
