Entries now open for matchplay comp

The Heath's Andrew Goldstein reached 2011 regional final
Entries have just opened for the 2012 Golfdelaluz.com Northern Matchplay Golf Championship.

The popular season-long knockout tournament is open to male golfers across the North of England and is sponsored by Holmfirth based golf travel company Golf de la Luz.

Entry is just £15 for the Individual event or £25 per pair for the Betterball competition.

There's also an incentive to encourage early entries whereby anyone who enters before the 31st December will be put into a draw to win Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.

The grand final in 2012 will be held at the breathtaking Arcos Gardens Golf Club & Country Estate near Cadiz in Spain. It is a simply stunning venue with top class facilities and will provide the perfect setting for the 12 lucky golfers who make it through to the grand final.

Before that a draw is made for opponents shortly after the closing date, which is initially done on a local basis to minimise travelling distances. The first round is played over 36 holes on a 'home & away' basis ensuring that every competitor gets to play at least one round away from their home course. A draw for home advantage is made in subsequent rounds.
